Tucked along the Lake Michigan shoreline in West Michigan, the White Lake Area is the kind of place that invites you to get outside and enjoy the view. Here, the neighboring towns of Montague and Whitehall are connected by more than a bridge. They share a landscape shaped by water, trails, and four seasons of adventure. They also share a way of life we like to call Live White Lake, an invitation to explore whatever your own personal “it” may be.
Bring your bike and follow the paved, 23-mile Hart-Montague Trail through trees, farmland, and small-town scenery. The White Lake Pathway connects the Hart-Montague Trail to the Berry Junction Trail, creating even more opportunities to explore on two wheels. When the leaves change, these trails become a front-row seat to Michigan color in high definition.
Winter changes the view, but the welcome stays just as warm. Snow-covered trails welcome cross-country skiers, snowshoers, and snowmobilers, while frozen landscapes bring a quieter kind of beauty to the lakeshore. For anglers, winter brings a whole other season of adventure, as ice fishing takes center stage on frozen inland waters like White Lake and Duck Lake.
When warmer days return, White Lake opens up in a whole new way. Paddle the White River, cruise White Lake, spend the day along Lake Michigan, or bike from trail to downtown for local shops, restaurants, breweries, and gathering places.
That is the magic of White Lake. You don’t have to choose between outdoor adventure and a welcoming small-town getaway. Here, they come together all on their own. It’s just who we are.
